Men seeking a challenging, unconventional educational experience: Welcome to nirvana. Deep Springs College is a tiny, two-year liberal arts college in a remote desert location that furnishes its students (all two dozen or so) with an intense, all-expenses paid education that includes not only academics but mandatory ranch work and self-governance as well. Upon graduation, “students regularly transfer to Berkeley, Cornell, Harvard, and Yale.”
