The alma mater of Nathaniel Hawthorne, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and
Franklin Pierce has undergone significant changes in recent years. Bowdoin
boasts two new, state-of-the-art science facilities and new residential
halls, and it has bid a fond adieu to the traditional Greek system. Sports
are huge here, and the Great Outdoors of Maine provide ample
outdoor opportunities.
